Maya Fire Ceremony

The Fire Ceremony is at the heart of Maya Cosmovision. Here, we express our gratitude to nature for the opportunity to live, grow, heal, create, and elevate our consciousness. We acknowledge the masculine and feminine aspects of our beings, as well as the light and darkness within us.

It is a call to our ancestors and family, and a recognition of the Nawales or Chumiles: the governing archetypes of time and human evolution.

We honour who we are, recognise our faults, and take responsibility for the consequences of our actions, opening the way for the manifestation of the Winaq within each individual — a human being in fullness and totality before themselves and their community.

We pray for what is to come, for beginnings and endings. We give thanks for what has been achieved and for what has passed. We light the fire on the altar as a symbol of the inner fire of every human being.

🔥 The fire ceremony can have different intentions, for example:

  • Maya marriage, wedding or spiritual union ceremony.
  • Physical, emotional, or spiritual healing.
  • Gratitude for life or for a completed cycle.
  • Request for clarity, strength, guidance, or protection.
  • Initiations or spiritual commitments.
  • Celebration of births or provide spiritual strength to a newborn.
  • Other milestones of life, work or business.
